Douglas & Sons (Pvt) Ltd. (DSL) has initiated to create a unique sculpture of a spread winged Eagle, made entirely out of used automotive spark plugs of Japanese NGK brand. With the desire of making their business home town iconic, they recently unveiled this spectacular of eagle at the round-about in Panchikawatte, which DSL has landscaped and maintained as a pioneer company in support of ongoing beautifying program of Colombo city. The sculpture was ceremonially unveiled by the Mayor of Colombo Mr. Mohamed Muzammil. Mr. Kiichiro Iwase the 1st secretary of the Economic Cooperation section at Japanese embassy, Mr. Yoji Kawanishi of NGK Company Japan with other officials of NGK Company and Mr. Saroj Perera Chairman/Managing Director of DSL with the directors and staff of DSL were also present at the unveiling ceremony.
This masterpiece of sculpture will be one of a kind in Sri Lanka, which will subtly denote that well-known significance of Panchikawatte.
